We describe the first spin-transfer experiment performed for the π to pp reaction. Three spin-transfer parameters were measured: K’LS'; K'ss'; and K'NN each, at a single angle for a number of energies spanning the Δ resonance of this system. The apparatus employed in this experiment consisted of established systems, including a dynamically polarized deuteron target and a proton polarimeter. The incorporation of polymers or smaller complex molecules into lipid membranes allows for property modifications or the introduction of new functional elements. The corresponding molecular-scale details, such as changes in dynamics or features of potential supramolecular structures, can be studied by a variety of solid-state NMR by: 6. of the 3He(d,p)4He reaction. The MONDO detector, that exploits the tracking of the recoil protons produced in single and double-elastic scattering neutron interaction to measure the neutron kinetic energy and its incoming direction, is a matrix of scintillating fibres, arranged in x-y oriented layers (total active volume 10×10×20 cm^3^ filled with squared μm fibres.

The tensor polarization of the recoil deuteron in elastic electron-deuteron scattering has been measured at the Bates Linear Accelerator Center at three values of four-momentum transfer [ital Q]=,and fm[sup [minus]1], corresponding to incident electron energies of, and MeV.

A polarized, internal electron target gradually polarizes a proton beam in a storage ring. Here, we derive the spin-transfer cross section for $\vec e\,(p,\vec p\,)e$\ scattering.

The polarization studies in N-N scattering at and below 50 MeV have provided specific and significant improvements in the phase-shift parameters. High-energy investigations with both polarized proton beams and targets have shown unexpectedly large spin effects, and this provides a challenge for theoretical effort to explain the by: 4.

A polarized deuterium target was developed for the use of the first measurement of the so-called complete spin dependent cross-sections of the D→(d→,p)T nuclear reaction at 20MeV. Many significant new results and achievements on the different topics considered at the symposium are presented in this book for the first time. Sec. IVB. Thus, in order to keep the proton polarization for a su ciently long time period, it is important to maintain the target at a su ciently low temperature.

A beam irradiation test of the polarized target was conducted with a MeV 12C beam at the PSI. The polarized target was operated at T to avoid the rapid spin relaxation at.

A better approximation to the interaction potential is obtained by allowing for charge polarization of the target molecule by the reactive partner or scattering particle. In this chapter we focus on this charge-polarization aspect, and, in particular, we study how adiabatic charge polarization affects the interaction potentials for electron Cited by: 7.
